6. Activation
Preparing for use
· Remove the radio and accessories from the packaging. · Remove all transport restraints and adhesive tape/films.
Important!
Do not permit small children to play with plastic packaging. There is a risk of suffocation!
Inserting the batteries
For operation you need two 1, 5 V batteries type Mignon AA/LR6 (not supplied). Open the battery compartment s on the rear side of the radio. 2. Place the batteries into the battery compartment s making sure that you observe the correct polarity according to the illustration. 3. Carefully close the battery compartment lid until it clicks into place.
Interaction with batteries
Leaking batteries can cause damage to the device. · If you do not intend to use the device for an extended period, remove the batteries. Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposing of batteries!
Do not dispose of the batteries with household waste. Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site of his community/city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
